Manti Pagent- BEAR RanK

Thursday, June 18th

Every summer the city of Manti puts on the Mormon Miracle Pageant.  Jeremiah and I went 10 years ago when I was pregnant with Kotah and it rained on us canceling the show.  We finally were able to make it back down with the kiddos.  After pitching the tent at the city park we drove back up to Ephraim to Roy's Pizza and Pasta for dinner.

The performance is presented on the hillside below the Manti Temple.  It doesn't start until sundown so we had plenty of time to just sit and relax before the show started.  Kenai and Kaiya brought crayons and coloring books/reading books to keep them entertained until the start.

Kotah and Jeremiah walked back to the park (we had walked over from there to the temple grounds... maybe a mile) anyway, they walked back to the park to get the blankets and moved the Jeep closer so that when it was over we wouldn't have to walk, carrying Kaiya asleep, back to the park.

The next morning we got up and headed home as the sun was coming up.  It was a fun trip and the kids kept talking about the different parts of the program they remembered and liked.  I'm so glad they enjoyed it, perhaps we will make this an annual thing (or at least a semi annual thing) that we do with them now that they are older and can understand better what is going on.

It HaS bEeN sO HOT!!!! the kids have been going over to my parents to play in their blow-up pool as often as we can.

Tuesday, June 23rd

Kotah has been working hard to finish his BEAR rank for Cub Scouts.  As of June 1st there are new requirements and achievements for the boys.  We knew this was coming so even though May was CA-RAZY we were determined to finish all his requirements for BEAR before the new program was to be implemented.  He finished before the May Pack meeting, but because he had Lacrosse/Baseball we had already planned for him to receive the award in June.

...Just a side note... If you want your kids to be a good kid, make sure you do everything you can to encourage them to surround themselves with GOOD KIDS.  Kotah is so lucky to have a such a great and crazy group of kids in his church class.  He has LOVED his teachers, who are moving out of our ward boundaries and will be missed.

June was a whirlwind... perhaps July will slow down just a little before we have to get ready for football and school again this fall. Happy Summer Activities to you all!
