Jeremiah and the kids (and me) sitting IN the intersection of 4800 South and 1900 West in Roy for the Parade... the first weekend in August.
Waiting, with buckets in hand, for all the GOOD STUFF to start coming.
This year was the 75th anniversary of the city actually being Roy City. As part of the celebrations the city invited those (Ladies) who were lifetime residents of Roy to be part of the parade. In the WHITE CAR is my grandma Marilyn Bennington and her sister Nola Barker. The were born in Roy, lived in Roy (in a house that sat on the corner of 5600 South and 2700 West until they built the overpass that is there now) and are still living in Roy. Fun little bit of family history there haha :)
Then the GOOD STUFF started...
Jeremiah even got out in the road to help when the throwers didn't quite get the candy out of the flow of traffic coming next in the parade.
Kotah and Kenai liked McGruff the best.... besides anyone that was throwing water balloons at them.
Kaiya didn't care to collect the candy, but she LOVED that TOOTHBRUSHES were handed out by one of the participating floats.
Even without Kaiya collecting candy the boys were able to bring home a bucket full each (and as of today we still have taffy lingering from the parade)
