For the past 2 years Jeremiah has been battling a severe case of Plantar Fasciitis.
He has seen doctor after doctor, done physical therapy, A-stem therapy, chiropractic options, splinting, icing, stretching, cortisone shots (3) with NOTHING making things better.
We were down to 2 final options... TENEX (what we chose) and the final step of Surgery (cutting the inflamed fascia to release the tension and allow it to re-heal to it's "original" form).
(above) the physician is using an Ultrasound to locate the parts of the fascia that is inflamed and using the "needle" (by "needle" I mean straw type needle) to break up and remove the scar tissue as well as the damaged tissues. It is much like liposuction. After removing that portion, they inserted the previously removed Protein Rich Plasma (which they has drawn and separated from the Red Blood Cells at the beginning of the procedure).
Jeremiah was a champ. He was numbed up, but really it wasn't as numb as it maybe should have been because he kept acting like he could actually FEEL the procedure and not just feel the pressure from the procedure. The following weekend was pretty awful for Jer. He was doing everything as he was instructed to rest and heal.
Here we are almost 5 weeks later and he is doing better. He and the boys went to South Dakota with my dad for a hunting trip/family reunion thing prior to Thanksgiving, we have been doing things as normal, and this last week he was released from light duty at work and he actually worked 12 hour shifts all week last week. I have no way of REALLY knowing how it is now compared to then, but he seems to be doing better.
