Day 2- LEGOLAND

Sunday- March 29th

What a fun first FULL day here in good ole CALIFORNIA...
We "slept in" as in we didn't get up until just after 7 (our time)... for Jer this is sleeping in several hours, we'll take it right. We got up and had breakfast, continental breakfast here at our hotel, and after everyone had eaten plenty we loaded up the Jeep and headed up to LEGOLAND.
Technically they don't open until 10 (I guess), but we were there a little earlier than that and we got in just fine. Funny how when you go to these amusement parks there are always others who want their picture taken too so we all just sorta pass around cameras/phones in order for everyone to get at least one good picture to have.
Above/below are pictures from our first ride... even though we did take some pictures throughout the day, we really focused on just BEING IN THE MOMENT and not trying to capture every moment.
2 pictures below were on one of the rides we were actually able to get pictures (no "get wet potential" and it wasn't a roller coaster) Because of different height restrictions Kotah was left riding MOST of the rides alone.  Kenai and Kaiya could ride, but they nearly always had to have an adult riding with them. He didn't mind, thank goodness... he actually though it was fun to be so big.

After getting our fill of LEGOLAND for the day (we get to go back again tomorrow) we came back to the hotel and had a wonderful dinner... okay so perhaps "wonderful" isn't the right word, but when you're really hungry (we hadn't eaten for a few hours since lunch) and kids are tired, having a quiet little bit while everyone eats is wonderful....
...after the bellies were all filled, we changed into our swim suits and drove over to Coronado Beach
Kiaya built sand castles and ran away from the incoming waves (some were REALLY big, taller than her a few times)
Kotah built with Kaiya for a little while, then he went exploring in the water... looking for sea shells for Kaiya, but found this "FIND" instead... he joked as he gave it to me saying, "Hey, mom, wanna use this for sushi?"
Jeremiah came out of the water (from body surfing) long enough to help bury Kenai in the sand... he said he was actually colder in the sand than he had been standing wet on the beach, so back in the water he went to wash off and get warmer.
I was on the beach helping Kaiya build most of the time, but at one point she told me there was something in the water that she wanted.... we went out to my knees, and the next thing we knew I was swooping her up in my arms because a wave had come in that was nearly at my waist... we watched as the water raced up the beach and washed away our "big castle"... she was heartbroken and decided that was the end or her playing...
Kotah and Jer stayed in the water until the lifeguards came up the beach announcing that they were leaving for the night and recommended everyone else exit the water at that time.
We had such a fun filled day/night with the kids.  I am so excited for the rest of our days to come.
Kenai wanted to take a picture of Jeremiah and me as the sun was setting... HE TRIED... instead we took this and told him he "did a great job" getting our picture... haha
After all that fun, we came back to the Lodge and got everyone showered and fed before getting in our scripture reading for the evening.  Kaiya was asleep in under 5 minutes, Kenai in 10... Kotah is still hanging in there trying to finish watching "Planes", but I'm sure if I just turned everything off he'd be out too... so that's what I'm gonna do.
