Grey's River- Pioneer Day weekend

Wednesday July 24th we took off earlier than planned and headed up to the Grey's River (Wyoming)
We took the Civic because we were meeting up with other family.  My parents were already up there with their truck and trailer so we were just staying in it with them.
We got there that evening just in time for dinner.... and by bed time the kids were totally wiped out.
The next morning we had breakfast outside :) on our cook stove.  We spent a few hours just hanging around camp and letting the kids play as they wanted.
 (Our Camp)
Kaiya wanted pictures :) LOVE this little girl so much!!

Jeremiah was carving arrows for the boys to shoot with their bows so they weren't constantly running around camp chasing (trying to find) their actual arrows.

(above) Kotah using one of the carved arrows.  Kenai is also shooting his carved arrow in the background. (below) Kaiya was playing horseshoes.

A little before lunch we went for a drive up the mountain so we could go for a hike and get in some shooting.  When we made it to the end of the road we pulled off and had our lunch of sandwiches/chips, and sodas.

After getting our grub on we headed up the old part of the road that is closed off to motorized vehicles.  It made it nice because we could let the kids run if they wanted, but we were still able to see them for a long distance.
After we'd hiked about 1-1.5 miles we stopped and let the kids start shooting.  We all took our turns, but it was so much fun to watch the kids shooting the BB gun and .22 that we just kept giving them more turns.

Kaiya's FIRST turn shooting the BB gun.  Yes, she needed help holding and aiming, but she pulled the trigger all on her own (with two fingers).  She'd keep getting this startled, surprised and excited look on her face each time she shot the gun.
When we went back to camp and just spent the evening hanging around and visiting with family. My aunt, uncle and cousins (and their little families) were all there with us.

The next day..... We went down to the river and let the kids play in the water.  It was so cold.  I loved watching them screaming and running and just playing as little kids should.

The time spent in the mountains always seems to pass so quickly.  Friday night we spent time around the campfire telling stories and eating CRESHMALLOWS (a marshmallow wrapped in a crescent roll and roasted over the fire... a sweet treat made sweeter by putting a mini candy bar inside the marshmallow) and SMORES :)  We came home Saturday morning July 27th.
