Last weekend Jeremiah and I took the kids out for some fun. We started out on Antelope Island. We drove out there and spent some fun time at the Garr Ranch located on the Southeastern part of the island (where visitors can access).
All the "sight seers" looking through their binoculars.
Kotah getting the hang of Lassoing...
Kenai doing his best at roping the "cow"
Kaiya decided it was easier to just hop up and ride the animals :)
School time in the main farm house (side note... see Kaiya's binoculars on the table? We realized as we were getting ready to load back into the car that she didn't have them anymore... she left them right there on the table when we left this house.)
Antelope Island is fun for seeing antelope, buffalo, and BEAUTIFUL sunset pictures (next time we'll go in the evening instead of the morning.)
AFTER leaving the island, the kids wanted to hike Waterfall Canyon in Ogden. We headed that way but decided to try a trail we'd never done before (which was more advanced than the kids wanted... therefore it was harder than anticipated)
Even at the very beginning of the hike we were already gaining a lot of altitude...
This is a shot looking EAST up Ogden canyon (12th street canyon in Ogden) This whole trail is pretty much straight UP until the half way point at which point the trail begins to switch back/forth until you drop back down into the canyon... Had we gone all the way from one end to the other there was NO WAY the kids would have made it, maybe later on in the season.
Jeremiah carried Kaiya all the way to the top, at which point she started getting sleepy and wanted ME to carry her. I did carry her all the way back down (which wasn't a big deal, I carry her most of the time so Jer can manage the other two) haha she had also taken her pony tail holders out by this point :)
It was kinda cool to look west back out at the Island where we had started the morning.
This picture is the last one I took with my camera... ever I guess. There is now something wrong with it and it takes only pictures that look like this. :(
Oh-well, perhaps I'll just have to start carrying Jer's much bigger (potentially better) camera.
