This summer Kotah gets to play baseball, again... (he played Tball 2 years ago and we agreed it was a TOTAL WASTE of money/time) This year is his first year hitting off the machine.
Tuesday, May 7th was his actual first game... he played 3rd base and got 2 outs in the first inning... the kids swapped who was in the field/batting
However, it was at the moment the sky lit up with a HUGE bolt of lightning and a nearly instantaneous crash of thunder... needless to say the game was called so the kids didn't actually get to play their entire first game...
Well, tonight (Thursday the 9th) Kotah's team got to play an entire full game.
Kotah was FIRST up to bat.... first pitch swing and a miss... second pitch he connected and hit it OVER the shortstop position (and that is without swinging through-for those of you that understand) He seems to still stop his swing as soon as he makes contact.
He ran and made it to First base... the next batter, however, hit the ball right up the middle and it practically stopped on 2nd base causing Kotah to be out thanks to "fielder's choice"
Kotah played between first and second bases (basically the 2nd base position, but there was another kid STANDING ON 2nd) he was kinda in a "right sided short stop position"
No balls were hit or thrown in his direction that inning...
His team batted again and he hit it AGAIN. He was on second with a runner on first when the batter hit a ground ball at the third baseman (what are the odds) and he just stopped the ball while squatting ON third... Kotah was out again because of where his teammate hit the ball.
Back out in the field, he played second again :) See the kid standing ON 2nd? The big guy is one of his coaches, seems nice enough... weird and yet fun NOT to be coaching.
Third time up to bat he hit a LINE DRIVE between their short stop and third baseman into the OUTFIELD.
Eventually Kotah made it around all the bases to third... The batter hit a little bunt-ish hit (not on purpose) and Kotah HAD to run home and essentially had to try and outrun the fielder with the ball, but he was tagged right on the edge of the dirt (pictured above)
Right as the game was ending this is what was rolling in and the skies let loose with a nice, quick, downpour... Baseball is going to be a fun 7 weeks :)

That Kotah is one of the cutest, sweetest boys I know. I love the action shot of him running into home.
