This past weekend we actually were able to spend some time together (Jeremiah didn't have to work overtime) so we decided to head out on a safe, short hike with the kiddos...
Jeremiah and the boys, then me and all the kids... we didn't think we needed to switch the backpack carrier just for the pictures.
In the beginning the boys were all but running along the path...
We paused for a moment so I took this picture looking out to the West
There was this part of the path that was completely encircled by the trees that were growing on both sides of the path then arched over the top, it was a nice little shady spot on the hike
As we came out of the cooler spot we noticed a few lizards running across the path... can you spot it (lower left hand side of the picture).
After seeing the lizards we were pretty happy with the thought of what wildlife we had seen, when right about that time Kotah paused on the path and asked for a drink. After getting his drink (he was in the front) he turned around to go again and saw a LARGE (HUGE FOR ME) and way too close SNAKE slithering along the right side of the trail... Jeremiah took Kenai's walking stick and stuck it on the tail... it hissssssed and took off through the long grass. I was ready to be done at that moment. All we could do was finish out the hike and the rest of it was nice and pleasantly uneventful.
When we got home we headed over to Lowe's and got a bunch of ceiling fans (that post will come later), flowers, and other small things for the house.
BEFORE IN THE FRONT FLOWER BED...
AFTER IN THE SAME FLOWER BED...
Jeremiah had to rearrange the rocks so we wouldn't have so much water running out of the flowerbed and onto our front steps... that was hard work just watching let alone helping out (as best I could haha)
