Hard to imaging our lives without this little spitfire. She's loving, kind hearted, joyful, she tries so hard at the things in her life. Kaiya loves church and especially her teachers (last year anyway... too soon to tell this year).
We made her cake together as well as home made frosting with grandma.
Happy HAPPY BIRTHDAY Baby girl!!! You will always be my closest and dearest friend. We will have years to come where we may both question that fact BUT I hope you know I will always be your #1everything.
...Priesthood Advancements...
While Kaiya was giddy and excited about "F.I.N.A.L.L.Y" being 8 there were also other milestones that were pushed forward earlier than planned with the boys. Starting here in January there were changes within our church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints)... Thanks to those adjustments Kenai no longer had to wait until he turned 12 in September to become a deacon and therefore receive the Aaronic priesthood. What this means immediately is that he will be able to pass the sacrament to the congregating, he'll go to members houses and collect their Fast Offerings, and what he's most excited/nervous about is gaining a limited use Temple Recommend so he can join Kotah and me for Baptisms for the Dead (standing in as proxy for people who have passed on, for them to be given the opportunity to accept or reject the ordinance performed on their behalf). This level of excitement is something I wish I could bottle and sell.
Kotah was advanced from a deacon to a teacher. Normally he'd have had to wait until he turned 14 in September, but not after these recent adjustments. He's happy to be back with the boys that are more mellow like himself rather than the younger (mostly) less mature boys. He'll now get to learn about preparing the sacrament for the blessing and administering. Fun times going forward.
